Job Search Assistance

Malton Neighbourhood Services offers two job search programs. One is a three-day intensive program for clients with professional backgrounds or who are already established in careers, and the other program, The Malton Job Finding Centre, provides participants over a three week period with career development training and job search coaching. Both programs offer clients backup support services and resources to facilitate their job search, including use of computers with internet access.

Through individual coaching by knowledgeable, supportive and enthusiastic staff as well as interactive workshops with diverse team support, learn how to market yourself effectively to employers. Gain the skills and awareness you need to achieve self-sufficiency in your job search. Make use of the resources such as computers, Internet access, printers, fax, copiers, newspapers, books and more.

Three-Day Intensive Job Search Workshops

These are three-day intensive job search workshops offered to permanent residents, landed immigrants, live-in caregivers and convention refugees. Through the workshops, participants gain a comprehensive understanding of Canadian labour market, employment trends and work cultures. They learn how to network and to access the hidden job markets and unadvertised job leads. Participants also learn about workers' rights and employment standards and how to prepare professional resumes, cover letters as well as how to conduct effective job interviews.
